Fantasy Football League is returning to Sky

Amidst the fervor of another exhilarating Premier League season, Sky joyfully announces the highly anticipated return of the critically acclaimed comedy series, Fantasy Football League, for its second season. The dynamic hosting trio of Matt Lucas, Elis James, and Andrew Mensah, known for their infectious passion for football, are set to grace our screens once again, promising an entertaining blend of humor and sports insight. Fans can eagerly anticipate the show’s comeback on Sky Max and NOW in early 2024.

Building on the success of its inaugural run, Fantasy Football League Season Two is poised to captivate both loyal enthusiasts and new viewers alike. Staying true to the beloved format of the original cult series, Matt and Elis will dissect the week’s football news, sharing sidesplitting clips and amusing anecdotes. The fan-favorite ‘Phoenix From The Flames’ segment, a delightful recreation of iconic footballing moments featuring legendary players, is set to make a triumphant return. The upcoming series boasts an impressive lineup of iconic players, including Jack Wilshere, Gabby Agbonlahor, Wes Morgan, Pedro Mendes, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Jermain Defoe, Emile Heskey, and more.

Adding an extra layer of excitement, each week will feature a dynamic pair of celebrity guest managers gracing the legendary sofa, engaging in candid discussions about their love for the beautiful game and regaling viewers with hilarious personal stories from their diehard football fandom. While the celebrity guest managers for Season Two are yet to be unveiled, Season One boasted an illustrious lineup that included Maisie Adam, Doc Brown, Sir Mo Farah, Tom Grennan, Russell Howard, Guz Khan, Roman Kemp, Sally Lindsay, Gabby Logan, Chris McCausland, Sir Trevor McDonald, Sam Quek, Rachel Riley, Jennifer Saunders, AJ Tracey, and Jamie Winstone.

The 8-episode series, each episode running for 30 minutes, was commissioned by Phil Edgar-Jones, the Director of Sky Arts and Entertainment, alongside Dwayne Eaton, Commissioning Executive at Sky, working under the guidance of Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content at Sky. The production is in the capable hands of Avalon, known for their successful projects like Taskmaster, Starstruck, The Russell Howard Hour, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Fantasy Football League will be Series Produced by Spencer Millman (TV Burp, The Inbetweeners 2), and the Series Director is Peter Orton (Fantasy Football League, TV Burp, The Russell Howard Hour).
