Brought to life on the Birmingham Hippodrome stage and captured in a specially filmed performance, Rambert presents the thrilling Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby on BBC Four this Christmas, featuring an iconic soundtrack.

Crafted for the stage by Steven Knight and choreographed/directed by Rambert’s Artistic Director Benoit Swan Pouffer, the show, featuring the full Rambert dance company, commemorates a decade since Peaky Blinders first graced BBC screens.

Set against the backdrop of post-World War I Birmingham, the narrative unfolds from the trenches of The Somme in 1916 to the Shelby family’s post-war journey. Tommy Shelby’s rise to power intertwines with the mysterious Grace, operating undercover for Special Branch to infiltrate Tommy’s gang. As their stories intertwine, hearts break, and revenge takes center stage.

Birmingham-born writer and poet, the late Benjamin Zephaniah, known for his role as street preacher Jeremiah Jesus in the TV series, adds a spoken-word element. Accompanied by a live on-stage band, the performance features specially commissioned music by Roman GianArthur and iconic tracks from Peaky Blinders by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Radiohead, Anna Calvi, The Last Shadow Puppets, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
