The New Look: Apple TV+ confirm 14 February release date and drop trailer

On February 14, Apple TV+ is set to premiere the captivating historical drama series “The New Look,” as announced by the streaming service, along with the release of a trailer.

Created by Todd A. Kessler, the show stars Ben Mendelsohn as ‘Christian Dior’ and Juliette Binoche as ‘Coco Chanel.’ Set against the backdrop of World War II and exclusively filmed in Paris, the 10-episode series unveils the struggles and triumphs of fashion luminaries such as Dior and Chanel during this tumultuous period.

The global debut of “The New Look” will kick off with the first three episodes on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2024, on Apple TV+, followed by weekly releases until April 3. The storyline, set against the Nazi occupation of Paris, delves into the pivotal moment when the city reclaimed its fashion prominence through Christian Dior. As Dior’s revolutionary influence rises, Chanel’s status as the preeminent fashion designer is threatened.

The ensemble cast includes Maisie Williams, John Malkovich, Emily Mortimer, Claes Bang, and Glenn Close, portraying key figures like ‘Catherine Dior,’ ‘Lucien Lelong,’ ‘Elsa Lombardi,’ ‘Spatz,’ and ‘Carmel Snow,’ respectively. The series’ immersive soundtrack, curated and produced by Grammy Award winner Jack Antonoff, features covers of early to mid-twentieth century songs by artists such as Bleachers, Florence Welch, Lana Del Rey, and others.

Produced by Apple Studios and DB-AK Productions, “The New Look” is written, executive produced, and directed by Todd A. Kessler, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark A. Baker also serving as executive producers.
