The Jonathan Ross Show to return this February

The Jonathan Ross Show will return to ITV1 on on Saturday 17 February with a brand new series.

The Saturday night entertainment show has been off air for a year because of the 2023 Rugby World Cup, but recently returned with a Christmas special.

The festive episode, still available to stream on ITVX, featured Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe winning actress Ariana DeBose, who will be chatting and performing in the studio with Boy George, plus the biggest selling classical artist of the century, Katherine Jenkins, star of Spider-Man, Platoon and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Willem Dafoe, comedian and host of A League of Their Own Romesh Ranganathan, and the hilarious stadium-filling stand-up Kevin Bridges.

Willem Defoe spoke about making a return as The Green Goblin, saying “It was a good spin on it. They took it to another step. It was worth revisiting. My only thing was, I said, ‘Listen, don’t make it a stupid cameo. If you want me back I really want to do something. I want to do some action stuff, I love doing that stuff, I don’t want to be a tip of the hat, I want to be integrated.’ And they did that.”

He adds of his job: “Every day is different and I like it a lot. With performing, often people say, ‘Don’t you want to direct, control…?’ I have no interest. Performing is still interesting to me. It’s something you can’t really perfect I think.”

The brand new series will record at TV Centre in London’s White City, with the first episode taping on Valentine’s Day. The series will wrap on Saturday 13th April.

There’s no confirmation yet on which guests will appear.

Jonathan kicks off a busy year which sees him continue to present his ITVX film series and he’ll also be fronting coverage of The OSCARS, which will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX for the first time. Jonathan can also be seen each Saturday evening as a panelist on The Masked Singer.
