Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Murder on the Dance Floor storms this week’s Big Top 40 Chart

Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Murder On The Dancefloor has rocketed up the Big Top 40 chart, landing at No.2 in this week’s countdown.

The song has enjoyed a massive resurgence, thanks to its use in Prime Video’s original film Saltburn, leading it to join the playlists of the UK’s biggest commercial hit music stations Capital FM and Hits Radio.

The airplay, on top of massive streaming figures, has seen the track climb from last week’s position at No.5, to close in on the No.1 spot.

It didn’t do enough to beat Ariana Grande though. Her new tune Yes, And? is number one for the second week running.

Teddy Swims enjoyed another successful week, although his track Lose Control dropped from 2 to 3. Elsewhere in the top ten, Dua Lipa holds strong with Houdini at No.10, Taylor Swift’s Cruel Summer is still hanging around at No.7 and Lewis Capaldi has climbed from No.9 to No.5 with Strangers.

There was a big new entry from Ella Henderson this week. Her new tune Alibi, ft. Rudimental, debuted at No.7.
