Paddy McGuinness to make Radio 2 presenting debut

Paddy McGuinness to sit in for Rylan on Radio 2

Paddy McGuinness is to make his BBC Radio 2 presenting debut, when he covers for Rylan on Saturday 10 February.

In a first for the former Top Gear presenter, Paddy will present a live, three hour show from 3pm, whilst Rylan takes a break. The official show synopsis reads “Paddy wants you to get involved with the show and have fun with him. You can enter the film and TV quiz ‘Couch Potatoes’. Let him know how you’re ‘Winning At Life’ or simply get in contact and say hello”.

Paddy, who has previously covered presenting duties for Vernon Kay’s Ten To the Top quiz, is the latest in a string of fresh stars to present on BBC Radio 2, following the likes of Cat Deeley, Jane McDonald and Richard Osman who have all covered shows in recent months.

It’s a busy time for Paddy, who is currently working on a UK tour, ‘Paddy McGuinness: Nearly There’ which hits the road this Autumn. TV-wise, his BBC One shows A Question of Sport and Top Gear won’t be returning. He was recently seen hosting Channel 4’s Don’t Look Down for Stand Up to Cancer and adventure gameshow Tempting Fortune.

Rylan meanwhile is about to be busy promoting his latest new tv show, Hot Mess Summer which starts on Prime Video soon.

Listen to Paddy McGuiness on BBC Radio 2, Saturday 10 February from 3pm on BBC Sounds.
