Ibsen’s thought-provoking exploration of truth in a society driven by power and money reveals that doubt can spread faster than disease. Dr. Stockmann’s groundbreaking discovery about the healing properties of the local baths puts the future of the town in his hands, but those with much at stake refuse to accept his findings. As the conflict extends beyond contaminated water, Ostermeier’s contemporary production breaks down barriers, demonstrating why this timeless tale of societal clash remains relevant.

Matt is one of the UK’s best loved actors, and later in the year fans will be able to see him in season 2 of Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon on Sky TV.

Also on the show next week, Barney and Bradley Walsh will be discussing their reboot of iconic gameshow Gladiators, which launches the following evening on BBC One and iPlayer.

Frank Skinner and Davina McCall complete the lineup.
