Emma Willis, Gok Wan and Anaïs Gallagher confirmed for new BBC Fashion competition

Emma Willis is to host a new BBC fashion competition called ‘Style It Out’ where nine creatively inclined and fashion-loving kids from various corners of the UK will vie for supremacy in a styling contest that champions sustainability. The heart of the show lies in empowering these young designers as they strive for the coveted opportunity to showcase their original creations at the prestigious London Fashion Week.

Airing on CBBC and BBC iPlayer from Wednesday, January 10, the series will unfold over three episodes weekly, culminating in the Winner’s Story episode on February 7. Filmed at the sustainable-first Sky Blue Studio in Coventry, the show challenges its participants to transform pre-loved clothes, vintage pieces, second-hand items, and rescued materials into fabulous outfits that celebrate individuality and imagination.

Joining Emma Willis and the contestants are esteemed judges, including star stylists Ayishat Akanbi and Jorge Antonio, along with celebrity judges such as Gok Wan, Katya Jones, Kyle Thomas, Tilly Lockey, The Lewis Sisters, Poppy O’Toole, Meesha Garbett, Donel, Talia Mar, Anaïs Gallagher, Shereen Cutkelvin, and Molly Rainford.

Throughout the competition, the young designers will defy fashion norms and stereotypes, creating stylish clothes for all body shapes and sizes, while immersing themselves in the principles of sustainability and recycling. Weekly challenges range from crafting red-carpet outfits to intricate customizations, allowing viewers to witness the unfolding creative process. Themes such as Prom, Halloween, or Animals add an extra layer of complexity to test the contestants’ artistic ingenuity.

Two contestants and one wild card will secure a spot in the final, competing fiercely to craft the two most remarkable sustainable and creative outfits, earning the exclusive chance to exhibit their talents at London Fashion Week. The Style It Out winner will continue their story by becoming part of a real-world fashion event, offering viewers an insider’s look into the glamour, drama, and excitement of a London Fashion Week catwalk show, with the winner featured as the star designer.
