Ariana Grande is this week’s Big Top 40 No.1

Ariana Grande has gone straight to No.1 on this week’s Official Big Top 40 chart. The singer’s new track ‘Yes, and?’ beat stiff competition from newcomer Teddy Swim’s whose single ‘Lose Control’ is at 2.

Elsewhere the popularity of ‘Saltburn’ saw Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s ‘Murder On the Dancefloor’ climb to No.5.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s “Murder on the Dancefloor” is an iconic and infectious dance-pop anthem that emerged in the early 2000s. Released in 2001 as part of her debut solo album “Read My Lips,” the song blends disco influences with contemporary pop, creating a track that’s both timeless and energetic.

The lyrics tell a story of betrayal and deceit on the dancefloor, adding a dark and intriguing narrative to the pulsating beats. With its catchy chorus, memorable hooks, and Sophie’s sultry vocals, “Murder on the Dancefloor” became a chart-topping hit and solidified her status as a prominent figure in the dance-pop genre. The song’s combination of sleek production, stylish lyrics, and Sophie’s undeniable charisma has made it a staple in the playlists of dance music enthusiasts, ensuring its lasting impact on the pop music landscape.

‘Saltburn’ is the film everybody is talking about, and it’s available to stream on Prime Video.

Elsewhere in the Top 10 there were new entries for Ultra Sonic with ‘Obsession’ at No.4 and Bring Me The Horizon with ‘Kool Aid’ at 7 and Sabrina Carpenter with ‘Feather’ at 6.

Each week the Official Big Top 40 counts down the songs you’ve streamed, downloaded and purchased. Host Will Manning plays out the full chart across Capital, Heart and Global Player.
