Radio 2 announce second Take That special

BBC Radio 2 has updated its schedule to include a second Take That special to air this Thursday night.

In Take That: The Afterparty, Gary, Howard and Mark will discuss their brand new album This Life with host Jo Whiley. Jo will play tracks from the album, as the band reveal their future plans and the stories behind their latest release.

The Afterparty programme follows Radio 2 in Concert with Take That, an hour long special at 7pm in which Take That will perform new tracks from the album as well as some of their best loved hits.

The band lead the nominations in the icymi Entertainment Awards with Humax, which fans are able to vote for once per day.

Take That says: “We can’t wait for Radio 2 In Concert. It’s such an honour to be asked to play such a prestigious show. At the heart of things, it’s a special and intimate show, but to also know how many fans will be tuning in from home – it takes the experience to another level. We are so excited to play songs from our new album live for the first time ever and of course revisit old favourites from the past. And the cherry on top is getting to see the wonderful Jo Whiley.”

Jo Whiley, host of Radio 2 In Concert, says: “Take That’s Gary, Howard and Mark are quite simply national treasures. Their music is the soundtrack to so many of our lives and their live performances never disappoint, so I can’t wait to see them perform in this exclusive Radio 2 concert.”

The concert will also be available to watch on BBC Two and iPlayer. The afterparty show will be available to listen to on demand via BBC Sounds.
