In the initial installment of the second series, we rejoin Leicestershire’s youngest police officers, encountering both familiar faces and new recruits as they unveil the trials of frontline policing. Throughout the episode, they share insights into the challenges they face, emphasizing how their friendships and camaraderie provide crucial support during the most demanding shifts.

The narrative commences with a grade one call-out for 26-year-old PC Jake Bull. After a stint in the child exploitation unit, Jake returns to his passion for response duties. Alongside partner Emmie, he investigates reports of a knife-wielding woman, leading them to a block of flats where the suspect misguides them. Later in the episode, Jake responds to a break-in at a suspected ‘traphouse,’ reflecting on how his previous experience in child criminal exploitation has contributed to his growth as an officer.

Introducing a new character to the series, 23-year-old Philippa is in her third week as a PC. Mentored by 26-year-old Jenny, they respond to an electronic tag breach involving a suspect with a potentially dangerous dog. This incident marks Philippa’s first arrest, and amidst the tension and the presence of a dangerous dog, she grapples with nervousness.

We are also introduced to 27-year-old Dom, a rising star in Leicestershire Police. Teaming up with response partner Dan, they embark on a search for a missing person suspected of overdosing in the park. The urgency of the situation is heightened by the cold, dark conditions and the vast expanse of ground to cover.
